Hola!

I am having a hard time keeping up. Time is flying by, I have blog ideas in my head, the month passes and then I am over it! I post photos on facebook, but I'm afraid if I don't write a little something then the "memory" will be quickly forgotten!

I think I am done blogging for now. Probably will just comment on my facebook photos to have little recaps.

Andy and I just got back from a fabulous trip to Portland, Oregon!!! Beautiful wedding and fun times with my family! Right before I left I told Mabry that I was going to miss her...she said "it's ok mommy, it's just like you and daddy are going on a date." So sweet! The girls had a blast with dad and gaye (poppa and gigi).

I wish I had the energy to give trip details, because I really don't want to forget, but some photos will do for now...too tired to write.

Thank you to mom for a wonderful trip and dad and gaye for watching the girls so we could go on a "date." We love yall and appreciate you so much!!!!

Diamond Lake Triathlon

Andy and I completed our first sprint tri. We did a couple super sprint tri's a couple years ago, but this was our first full one. 750m swim, 13.1 bike, 3.2 run!!! We used the term "train" lightly as we only had the chance to swim about 4 times, ride a handful of times and run a couple times a week. My mom was super helpful to watch the girls a couple Sunday afternoons so we could swim and ride or ride and run.....fun dates for us. Thanks mom!!!

The race was HARD! The lake (Boat Lake) was beautiful. The water was perfect, not too cold! I really don't like cold water. First time I had ever worn a swim cap that I can remember, I had a nice "mom" help me to put it on. I started off a little anxious and ended up swimming too fast, once I calmed myself down and found my pace I felt so much better! I would definiely say the bike was the most challenging part for me! The first half of the bike was hill after hill after hill...ahhhhhhhh! The second part of the bike was a lot better, a couple hills, but nothing like the beginning! Running is my stongest of the 3 parts, but I definiely felt like I was barely moving for the first 1/2 mile. Then I found my legs and was able to pick up my pace a bit. Going through the finish line is amazing...love that feeling!

Sad that it is over, I really enjoyed spending the time "training" with my best friend and enjoying race day with him. We will have to look for another race...anyone know of one close by?

Some girlfriends and I signed up to run a half marathon in March, so I am looking forward to that....Seaside here we come!!!

Summer Lasts

Last Day of Gymnastics

Summer flew by! It always does, but this summer was different, I really don't think there was a July it passed by so quickly! A couple weeks ago we had all our summer "lasts." Our last swim lesson, our last Bible Study, our last yoga class, our last gymnastics - all in one week! Since then we have been playing around the house, swimming and a couple of weeks ago, mommy and g-mommy snuck off to Bridgehampton, New York for a long weekend.

We had so much fun visiting Sarah and going to my precious friend, Jan's, wedding. It was a true East Hampton experience and I had so much fun on a trip with my mommy! New York post to come soon.

Mabry has been taking swim lessons last week and this week with her buddies Reed, Daniel and Liam. I cannot tell you how proud I am of my little fish! I'm not going to say she was excited about lessons everyday or didn't tell me multiple times that "a storm was coming in and we wouldn't be able to get into the pool"...even though she was a little hesitant about lessons, when we got there she was a good listener and hard worker! I was shocked that day 2 of lessons she swam the width of the pool and by day 4 she swam the length with help from coach to stop and breathe. The hardest element for her is looking down. She gets so anxious where the vaccuum is, or where the stairs/wall is that she forgets to look down. I truly am amazed how much all 4 of the kiddos have learned in such a short time! We had some funny poop adventures and all sorts of Gods creations hanging around. (baby mouse, dead baby snake, dead mole, frogs, centi/milli pedes) We still have one more day of lessons next week, we have been very fortunate to have an awesome coach and a beautiful pool to have lessons and swim around with our kiddos! I have really enjoyed spending time with Ashley (and Cade), Caroline and Rachel for the past 2 weeks!

About 2 weeks ago, Briley decided that she was going to walk. The past couple of months she had taken many steps, cruised from thing to thing, but preferred to be held. About 2 weeks ago she decided that she was ready. Since then she has not slowed down a bit! It is so cute! She also had her 14month appointment last week and she is almost 20lbs. (19.8lbs) 10th percentile for height and weight and 25 for head. The is talking SO much! She said Domino (neighbors cat) and my neighbor and I about fell out. She loves her lovey, climbing on any bed (especially with a naked bum after bathtime), she gives huge open mouth kisses, she is a pretty good eater - loves "blues" blueberries, she can tear up a pb & j and contstantly is doing things that are so sweet and cute that I have to tackle her with kisses! She is quite sassy too! She knows "no" and will give you the weasel eye right before swatting at you. Love her - every bit of that stinkin fun, cute, sweet and sassy personality!!!

Adventure Time

We just got back from our "adventure" to Indiana! We drove up last week, stayed in Nashville with my sister Taylor, spent a couple great days with our family in different cities within an hour of each other in Indiana and then headed home, had a quick dinner with Tay and her roommate and then got in a couple more hours before stopping for the night. Mabry thought it was so cool we got to stay in a hotel! So cute! Woke up, watched the World Cup, stopped and had a short visit with my great aunt in Montgomery and then finished our journey home. The girls really did so good in the car. I think they both had a GOOD 20 minute meltdown just outside of Montgomery, thankfully they both had their meltdown at the same time!!! There was lots of snacks, DVDS (Boz, Disney Princesses Singing, Little Einsteins and Auburn), Alphabet cards, this sweet little toy that I found at Learning Express that I think I had when I was a little girl, some sleep and mommy trying to read a book while climbing back and forth from the front of the car to the back.

The DVDS...I am looking at our collection and we have approximately 20 "kid" DVDs that Mabry could choose from. Mabry, lets watch Dora...how about Mickey? Nope ok, we will watch Boz again. I love Boz, don't get me wrong, but 2 days traveling I was kind of hoping for a little change. Mabry won't watch ANY movies and a lot of shows because she is scared. Not sure what that is all about?!?

We had SO SO SO much fun with Andy's parents, brothers, sisters-in-laws, our neices and nephews, and many more extended family members!

It was so much fun watching the girls (especially Mabry) playing with her cousins! She was acting SO big! AHHHHHH, I can't stand it, my Mabry is so grown up!

Andy's parents are having their 40th wedding anniversary in August, so we went up to Indiana to celebrate and throw them a party! It was so much fun! We had them cut the cake and feed it to each other and have a dance...so sweet! They are so special to me and my family, I am so thankful to have in-laws that I love so much and always enjoy spending time with!!!

While we were there we also went swimming, ate incredible Sundaes, ate lots of good food, played putt putt, rode go carts (hey guys- does anyone remember who won?!? hehe), relaxed, watched the girlies love on their grandparents, laughed at Briley trying to show off her walking skills...

FUN FUN times!!! To my Hanlons - love you all, thanks for a great trip!!!!

Mommy and Mabry Date

Mabry and I had a special date last week. It was SO much fun having one on one time with my silly little girl! She is such a great big sister and it was time she had a little something special. She has been talking about Zoinks since she has been "pull-up less" at night for about a month now so we went to her gymnastics class, Zoinks and then walked down to marble slab for some "green ice cream" (mint chocolate chip). Mabry is 3 years and 4 months and I feel like she changes everyday! She still loves to dance, play music really loud and gallop around the house, read books, play outside and her new favorite "swimming." We are going to take lessons in a couple weeks, so it will be fun for mommy to see how she does after formal lessons. She is pretty timid right now, but she is fine if she is on/near the stairs.

Mabry's First Ballet Recital

Do you ever feel so overwhelmed with love for your children that you could physically BURST??? I do quite often, from simple silly (or serious) sentences, to praying for certain people/things, to my baby's (I mean big girl's)first dance recital! This special little Ballerina about put me over the top! Preciousness is how I would describe my 3 year old dancing in her first ballet recital. Grinning from ear to ear I videotaped her rehearsal and then enjoyed the recital with no technology (technological?) distractions- it was wonderful!

Mabry's first response to her costume was, "mommy can I take this off now, it is too crunchy?" She didn't have to put it on again until picture day and then the rehearsal and recital. She was wonderful, did not complain a bit about the "crunchiness!"

She had lots of love coming from the audience. She had her mommy, daddy and sissy, Levi and Ashley, G-mommy and Ralph and Gigi and Poppa. Quite the crew. I was disappointed not to get any photographs with the grandparents, but she was tired and slightly overwhelmed by all the excitement.

The ballet program is amazing and I am so pleased with our first ballet experience!!!

So many precious moments...

There is absolutely no way I can keep up with my blog. If I were to keep up with all my girls "precious moments" then I would have to blog every day and I just don't see that happening (once a week is hard)! I really wish I could though, I hate to think I am going to forget the fun things my little stinkiers say and do! Ask my friends, I will forget :-( (Linley, were we in dance together? - haha) Seriously, I think I am missing that "memory" part of my brain.

Briley had her 1 year Dr. appt on Monday. She is right on track, sweet as can be and a little peanut! She is in the 10% percentile for weight and 50th for head and height. She says mama, dada, she kind of says kitty cat and bye bye (mommy understands her). Just yesterday she started saying uh oh and putting her hands out - so stinkin cute!!! Her crawl is hilarious! I need to post a video, it is so great. She crawls just using one leg and one hand...she can cruise though! She pulls up on everything and moves from one thing to another. She can stand for about 10 seconds on her own, but has not attempted to take a step.

Miss Briley is pretty picky when it comes to eating, she throws lots of food on the ground (that is how she knows uh oh), she loves cheese, green beans, pizza, mac and cheese, goldfish, peaches, pears, strawberries, sometimes she will eat chicken.... Mealtimes are a little tough around here...

Mabry went fishing today for the first time. We went out to the farm to have a picnic, fish and ride around on the mule. Mabry caught one her first "cast." Daddy helped her pull it in and immediately she says "lets put the fish back in the water so it can live." She fished with her daddy for awhile. Sissy and I went for a short stroll, looked for some snakes, didn't see any, she started looking like a cherry tomato, so I turned on the AC in the car and let her play and cool off a bit.

It's hard to believe that is the middle of May already. Our baby is one and our big girl truly changes everyday. We are so increible blessed.

If you have not met my dad, I have to say , you are missing out. He is one of the kindest, silliest, caring men I have ever known! He lives out his faith. It is so evident that Christ is the center of his life. Christ and Christ alone. During hard times, very hard times and fun/wonderful times he clings to that. My sweet little Briley carries on the name of 2 of the 3 most important men in my life. Unfortunately Mitch is not here to celebrate sharing his name with my little Briley Mitchell, but I am ever so grateful she gets to spend lots of time with her Poppa! Daddy, thank you for all that you do. I love and respect you so much! I hope you had a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

So I had a dream last night that I was in the Amazing Race. I was working on a challenge putting a puzzle together with food, I remember I was working with egg yolks...why are dreams so weird? I also remember my partner (girl, not sure who) wouldn't do the next challenge it was one of those roller coaster simulator things, anyway so we had to bake a cake. Then I ended up helping one of the brothers (thats on the show now) with his cake. RANDOM. THE BEST PART OF THE DREAM WAS THAT MITCH WAS IN IT!!!! When we were putting together the food puzzle, I turned around and saw Mitch dancing/playing in the line with Leah, Ricky and Theresa. He was wearing his Fox t-shirt and khaki shorts. I could see his face so clearly, I didn't want the dream to end.

I miss him so much. It is so painful still (6 years, almost 7) that he is not here. I want Mitch and Andy to hang out, the girlies to tackle and chase their Uncle Mitch, I want to call him when I am sad, and when things are just normal. I want to go visit him and check out the 7 boxes of cereal he has set out for me that morning, I want to drink coffee with him. I want to hear how much he loves the mtns. I want to meet his kids, my nieces and nephews. I want to pray for our families together. I want to run a marathon with him. I could go on forever. Selfishly I want all these things, but he is at peace. I TRULY believe that with all my heart. He would not want to come back to this broken world. I know without a doubt that he is with Jesus, and that gives me the peace I need to keep moving forward. He lived for Christ, it showed. I pray I would have faith like his. I think of Mitch when I read this verse: Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith." Hebrews 13:7

January, February and March will just have to wait. My camera is still MIA :-( so it will not be exciting to post without photos this month. I have my mom's camera right now so I have some photos to share.

The girls and I started off April on St. George Island. It was a fun and crazy time with lots of kiddos and their mommies! Thank you KT and eli for including us on this trip. I laughed as I signed the journal as I left....Spring Break 1995 (I think) compared to Spring Break 2010 - oh how the times have changed! I'm sure KT (the Carson family) or Jill (the Pope family) will have more details of the week. Their blogs are on my side bar.

Today our church (Wildwood) hosted a community egg hunt/bbq/pony rides/petting zoo/bouncies. It was a beautiful day, Andy's parents got in town last night, so it was so much fun to celebrate and run around with them. Mabry was a bit overwhelmed by all the action. We missed the 3year old egg hunt, so she went with the 4/5 group. She was very quiet today, but had lots of fun. I think petting the bunny, riding the pony and sliding down the giant slide with her daddy were her favorite!

We are so excited to spend some time with Grandma Janet and Papaw Doug! They are going to visit family in South FL tomorrow but will be back Tuesday night to enjoy the rest of the week with us.

I hope to be consistent documenting our adventures in April!

Getting Motivated

So a friend told me a long time ago how you can get your blog printed. So I am going to TRY and do a monthly (at least) post what happened during that month. I am going to start with January 2010 and go from there. I think this would be awesome if I actually do it. Unfortunately I have a horrible memory, so this gets me excited that I will have something to look back on and I won't have to print out tons and tons of pictures!

It would be a totally boring post if I left it at that, so I will tell you some tid bits...

my cousin Madeleine has been staying with us since Wednesday, I love quality time with my precious cousin (so does Mabry!)

Briley drank out of a sippy cup today, we are down to nursing 3 times a day. We will try to go to 2 times a day (morning and night) by the end of the month.

Andy had a GREAT time in Colorado! I am so glad he had the opportunity to go out there. I missed him and I am so glad he is home!

Dear Mabry,

Mommy and Daddy love you so much! We are having a hard time believing that you are already 3! You bring us so much joy each day. I think just today you were called Sassy a couple of times, and you hold true to that. You have so much spunk and personality, we could eat you up! You love to be outside, riding your scooter, tricycle, playing on your park,etc. You love to read- we could read books all day. You love chocolate, hmmmm - I wonder where you get that from!?!? You LOVE Briley and "Racky", both get a tad overwhelmed when you try and carry them around! You love to play with your friends, do yoga videos on the kids fitness channel, watch Mickey Mouse, Dora and mommy's favorite Sid the Sciene Kid, you love to play at "Hello Kitty" (Learning Express) for hours and hours. You love to get popcorn chicken and a cookie at Publix. You love to spend time with g-mommy and poppa and gigi. Your new thing is telling us stories. You are so creative and get so excited when sharing these stories! I could go on with the things you love to do and things that we love to do together...but I'll wrap it up and say, Mabry, thank you for being you, we love you and are so grateful for you. We pray that you grow up to love the Lord Jesus and desire Him in all that you do. Always know that mommy and daddy LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!!!

my heart turns to mush....

Miss Mabry will be 3 in just a couple of weeks! These pictures are some of those moments when my heart turns to absolute mush! She got the scooter for Christmas and we take it with us everywhere. She loves it!!! I love it! Check out the before feeding the nasty ducks, I mean, ducks and then after. They were quite aggressive - yikes! The other pictures are her first day of ballet. She is the youngest one and looks so tiny. She has only had 2 classes, she loves it and mommy loves to peek in the window and watch her...like I said - mush!

January, already a new year....and halfway through the month! It has been a big month for Miss Briley. So far she has learned how to say mama, wave bye bye, clap, and has blown a kiss. She lives on my hip most of the day. She loves playing with her toys but it usually lasts about 20 minutes before she is ready to snuggle again. She still does not nap, well not really. An hour today, 38 minutes yesterday....not much napping for an 8 month old! I guess her big sister teaches her that! Mabry is getting too big, it is so crazy to me that she will be 3 in a month. Some of my favorite things to do with her these days is to watch her ride her scooter and try to keep up with her, play candyland, color on her "weasal" easel, watch her play with her sister.... stinkin cute girlies! I love love love being able to stay home with them, it is such a blessing! THANK YOU HUBBY!!! I'll post some pictures from December, but way too many pictures between now and my last post. Most of them are facebook albums if you want to check out more photos.
I really want to post more often so I will remember what we have been up to. A friend of mine said she found a website that will print off your blog...I need to do that for my children's sake. I have the worst memory and I'm afraid I will have a hard time telling them about their childhood. Yikes! Hope everyone had a great Christmas and is enjoying the start of 2010!

I don't believe it has been a month since I posted-but it has!

My Briley is 6 months old, absolutely edible, sitting up, playing, reaching for toys, still happy "smiley briley", just started "eating" oatmeal cereal...she really gags, i cannot kiss her enough...my love her so much.

It's amazing how my love is equally unexplainable for my precious independent, spunky, silly, imaginative, little stinker Mabry. She totally keeps us on our toes, is teaching us the importance of discipline :-) , she loves to hide and pretend there are snakes everywhere, she is a little runner, and quite competitive already...yikes!

I always asked my mom how could she love all of us (Mitch, Taylor, Sarah and I) all the same. She told me you just do. Now I know that, I just love them both so much I seriously think I could burst at times.

Speaking of love - I love my husband! Andy is an incredible husband and dad! Watching him with our girls melts me! He works so hard so I can stay at home with the girls and then he comes home and doesn't miss a beat. Chasing Mabry from the minute he walks in the door, tickling and kissing miss briley, helping me put the house back together after a day of fun and chaos, totally understanding when it is "fend for yourself" dinner, cereal for dinner or eating out. Yeah - he rocks and I am so grateful for him!

God is good. He is blessing me so much as I am home this year. One of the biggest blessings is being able to attend a Bible Study Tuesday mornings and connecting with other moms as we grow closer to Him! I look forward to see what He is doing in our lives. This is a fun and busy "season" of life and I am afraid if I blink it will be gone!

5 months already?!?

As I just logged in my little precious 5 month old starts crying :-( She is supposed to be sleeping - she has stopped already - ok good. Quiet now with the exception of the FSU game, or is that the FL/LSU game in the background. A little switching back in forth, I'm not paying much attention. After working on a sewing project I decided I would stop and go to bed - since then I have chatted on facebook, uploaded some pictures, devoured 3 blonde brownies (thanks Jill), and now decided to update the blog...so much for going to bed :-) How does time go by so fast? I was thinking back to high school and thought a year was the LONGEST thing in the whole world - now a year truly goes by so fast I can hardly believe it! It is almost mid-October and my baby is 5 months old!!! My Briley Mitchell is such a sweet little girl, 100% rotten, but so precious. She loves to be held, she spends a lot of the day on my hip, Mabry likes to occupy the other hip at times too - love my girlies. Briley turned 5 months old on the 7th, I keep meaning to weigh her but keep forgetting. She is a chunker though, love those rolls! She loves getting her foot to her mouth and sucking on her toes, or her whole foot, she has rolled over but does not practice the skill often, and she sits up for a short time before toppling over. Big sister likes to sit on her like she is a horse, she rolls her over and is now trying to pick her up off the ground and hold her "all by myself mommy"! I LOVE watching them interact. It's late and I am going to ramble so I'll post a couple recent (within the month)pictures. Our camera enjoyed a night out on our playground, during a storm, so we are working on getting that taken care of. Here are a few when I had dads camera. Adios friends!

So our computer is still pretty wacked out :-( Doing what we can, when we can on it. I went ahead to CVS and put most most recent pictures on a cd - otherwise they may be on my camera forever! with that said I can do a picture post of our recent Auburn trip! Briley did not go with us, it was a date with Mabry, but we did bring her back a onesie! The "Go Gators" dress is the most recent thing added to my esty (lahanlon.etsy.com) If you get a chance check it out and pass it along. so our computer - CRASHED! so until Andy gets home from work I have no access to e-mail, fb, etc. whats a girl to do? actually it is fine, if you know me, I really don't like to be on the computer. i have updated my etsy, but the pictures are blurry b/c i had to copy them from the blog. all our pictures may or may not be retrieved from the crashed computer :-( I am going to take some more pictures but I'm not sure how long it will take me to upload them. so check out my etsy tab to the left and let me know what you think. So my girls are edible! We are having so much fun being at home together. Last week I started to go to a Bible study on Tuesday morning and a pilates/yoga class on Thursday mornings. Both being at my church so the girls play in the nursery with some of their church friends! I loved both, loved that I got some "me" time and that the girls had some time to play with friends. Mabry got sick Thursday night, but was better by last night...hopefully it was just a fluke thing. She was back to her busy sassy self today! We had a great LONG day...that's what happens when we are all up by 6am. I got to go to some garage/Estate sales this morning, one of my fun hobbies, then we all played outside and went on a walk. I have been wanting to go to 5 guys burgers and fries - so we headed there for a healthy :-) lunch and then came home and Mabry and I took a nap! (Briley doesn't really sleep much during the day). Is anyone still reading - I am rambling. Anyway, good rest of the day, looking forward to starting a Marriage Enrichment Sunday school class tomorrow morning at church, not sure what to expect, but I'm sure it will be great. I love our church so much. Our Pastor preaches The Word and the church provides so much opportunity for members to grow and be stretched in their faith. Off to take my pictures and then go to bed! I did start to read Redeeming Love again (by Francine Rivers) so I might have to read a couple chapters before shut eye. If you haven't read it, it is so good!

New Items...not on etsy, nope not yet!

So, I have posted a couple of my bibs/burp cloths/changing pad items on etsy, but have not spent the time to upload the clothes that I have made. Check out the link to the left. My goal by the end of the week is to get it set up with most of my completed items. From the pictures you will see that I need to take some better pictures (actually going to recruit Caroline to do that), before I post them. Here are the "new items"

As you can tell - random stuff! My ultimate goal is to have you come to me with the fabric of your choice and tell me what you want made. Maybe something for the first day of school (oops, missed that opportunity), birthday outfit, halloween, Christmas, etc. I will probably put things on etsy here and there, but that is not truly what I want to do. I want to make what you want! I am working on a base price list that lists a price of items if you were to bring me the fabric. I put my stuff on etsy because I love to sew...I would rather sleep than sew! My girls only need so many clothes, and did I mention that Mabry would wear a t-shirt and grey athletic shorts everyday if she could! Sound like anybody you know...maybe her mommy?! Everything I do usually happens after 8pm, unless a rare day when both the girls are napping at the same time. Anyway, I like to try new patterns, I like to be challenged, I love pretty fabric, I went off on a tangent and not sure where I was going with that?!?!

I will finish with a couple picture of my little stinkers! We are having so much fun being home together! Oh, the picture of the pants on Mabry are her Christmas pants, Briley has a matching pair....these are not for sale. Well I guess as Mr. Evans told me once that anything is for sale for the right price :-) I think that is when I was trying to talk him into giving me his Escalade! I don't mind "hand me downs" :-)

Hello friends and family!

So last year I had an etsy (online) shop with some bibs, burpcloths and other "baby items." As the school year went on and little Briley was sucking all the energy out of me as she was growing, I stopped keeping up with my etsy. I think I am about to "re-open" it when I can find an afternoon to work on it. With all that to say, this will be my first outfit that I am selling. Of course, you can buy it by just e-mailing me (lauraashley@mail.com) just in case etsy does not happen as soon as I would like! The outfit is a 3T, the topper can be worn as a dress or as a top with the ruffled cropped pants. You don't have to buy them both, they will be listed as separate pieces. I am going to try and post a link to the pictures I just uploaded on facebook. We are having a great month. We took a 10 day "adventure" to Indiana to visit Andy's family. The girls did great on the 17 hour road trip and while we were there we had so much fun with family! Briley has changed so much this month, she smiles so much and she has recently discovered her hands. She is a really good baby! Mabry just got over some 24 hour bug. She had a fever and threw up on Thursday, but was all better by Friday night. I need to go to sleep so I am going to try and post this and then go to bed. If it doesn't work then this will be a short, pictureless post! :-)

I don't think it is working...oh well. Goodnight!

Hey friends!

So of course I will stick with a picture post, but I must say that life is full of fun and adventures with 2 little girlies! We are having so much fun and enjoying watching our girls change everyday. Yes, we are tired, still getting up a lot at night...but it is all so worth it!!! I wish I could document everything Mabry says...she is hysterical. She has an incredible memory-unlike her mommy! Very independent little girl, always on the go! Everything is "my do it all by myself." She is taking gymnastics every Friday and staying busy during the week swimming a lot and playing with friends. Briley is a little chunk, she is cooing and smiling at us-it is so sweet! Even with #2 it amazes me how fast time goes by and how fast she changes! Ok-enough words, here are some pictures :-)

Family Time

We went to Ft. Walton beach this weekend (thanks gg) as our last family getaway before baby sister arrives. We rested a lot, I watched Mabry and Andy play in the "sand box" and the pool, and we even had a fun dinner at Joes Crab Shack. It was nice to get away and not feel like I had to get anything "done." Andy was sick all last week so it was good for him to spend some time with his girls. Since he was sick all last week the big girl room has kind of been put on hold. Kind of...we moved Mabry's furniture into her new room and just have to finish painting the other furniture for baby sister's room. Mabry did want to sleep in her big girl room tonight. I thought I would be ready, but I was actually very sad to put her to sleep in that big bed...what happened to my baby???!!! She hasn't made a peep since we put her down, so I am assuming she is cozy. The room is definitely lacking character right now. It has the precious new quilt from g-mommy, but other than that- bare walls. It will come together. Back to the beach...Mabry loved every minute of it. I think we were the FIRST people on the beach Sat. morning, I guess that happens when you are up at 5:30 beach time! We didn't actually go out until around 8:00, but still it was nice and quiet, and a bit chilly for mommy! We played until Mabry was nice and wet, then made a quick trip to Target to get a suit (I forgot that she didn't have one until I started packing). Then were back on the beach in no time, trying to enjoy the weather before it actually rained. After lots of playtime, Mabry took a 3 hour nap - her longest weekend nap ever!!! Today we did pretty much the same thing, except Andy and Mabry braved the pool before we cleaned up and headed back to town. So nice to spend time with my Andy and Mabry. Oh and I haven't had a DQ blizzard in a LONG time - chocolate one with Reeses cups-I already want another one, definitely the highlight on the way home!
