Mabry on the path to Mobility

This is my first attempt at video so hopefully it works. Here is some footage of Mabry from about a month ago just beginning to figure out the crawling thing. Needless to say in a month she has progressed mightily. She now makes her way around our living room with relative ease. Can't hardly believe it. So hope you enjoy my first blog posting and the first of hopefully many video clips to follow.

God Bless,

Andy, Andrew, or Rew... However you may know me.

Happy 6th month Birthday Mabry!!!

Mabry in her H.C.E.S. uniform!
Good Morning! Happy 6th month birthday!!!
Fun standing with my buddy Kent!
Thanks for my present Aunt Jilly!
Mabry loves her daddy!

Today our little pumpkin' is 1/2 a year old! It is so hard to believe how fast the time has gone by. She is such a sweet baby. She is such a busy body and loves to practice her crawling and pulling up. She has crawled just a couple times but she still can get all the way across our living room...she army crawls, scoots and rolls! She loves to pull up on mommy and daddy and act like a big girl. Tomorrow we go to the doctor for her 6 month check up and shots :-( sad for my little baby.

School is going well. I really am thankful for a full week to adjust before the kids came. Now that school has officially started, I've been able to go down to the nursery a few times to visit...but that will be impossible with my Thurs. and Fri. schedule :-( I know she is in good hands and she has so much fun, so that helps mommy feel better. I still miss her.

Andy and I have yet to exercise since our race :-) Maybe we will do something tomorrow. Probably not. I am sitting here with my pint of ice cream, eating and typing, when I should be asleep resting up for my big day tomorrow!

Love you all my family and friends!

Bye for Now,

:-) L.A.

To Finish is to Win!

We did it! Andy, Ashley and I finished our first ever sprint triathlon! We drove up to Huntsville Friday afternoon to visit our good friends Levi and Ashley Perigo... Uncle Levi and Aunt Ashley. After a long drive with Miss Mabes we arrived just in time to hang out a bit, read through our race packets and get pumped up about getting up at 5:00 am. Let me remind you my friends that we did not really train. We were on a roll for a little while but then got busy....needless to say when we arrived to the starting line we became a bit nervous. Ashley took off in the third heat while Andy and I followed in the fourth heat. Mabry and Uncle Levi hung out and took pictures. We all had our strengths and all felt like we had jello arms for the swim. This tri was backwards run, bike, swim rather than swim, bike, run. I had so much fun and definitely ready to sign up for another one! The rest of the day has been so much fun...it always is with the Perigos. After the race we went to Fleet Feet (with our coupon from the race) and I got some nice sunglasses for work. Then we cane back to the house and showered and chilled! Mabry has been a sport all day. She has been a little busy body... CRAWLING! It is a scoot with a couple of crawls...so cute! We are so proud of our little athlete. We just got back from a trip to Dicks Sporting goods and a Starbucks treat from Target. Tonight we look forward to pizza and hours of Wii. Hope everyone is having an incredible weekend. Please pray for me as my kids come on Monday. I am a bit nervous and sad to leave my little Mabes. She did have a great first week in the nursery, she loves all the action from the "big kids."

Adios for now!

HCES Babies

Having fun with Peyton!!!
Coach Paske...Sorry about the pink whistle David :-)
Mabes and Palmer
Mommy's Back!!!
Today was a big day for me and my little Mabes! Teachers "reported" back to school today and Mabry had her first day with the HCES Babies! I did have a hard time leaving her this morning....it made me sad. I love the nursery workers, I was just sad to leave my little pumpkin! Mabry did great! She had so much fun with all the other kids and she was even trying to show off her crawling skills. Well...almost crawling skills. I am thankful to have a week to get adjusted. I can't complain a bit since she is there on campus with me. Thank you Holy Comforter!!! Just wanted to send a short update, now it's time for bed. I'm pretty tired...not used to having a schedule. Oh yeah remember that triathlon I mentioned??? I don't think we have trained a bit for it since then! It should be fun for us this weekend! :-)
Adios...

Precious Leah

On our recent vacation Andy lost his wedding ring. I was hopeful that possibly it really didn't fall in the sand, but in a friends bag. Ok so pretty unrealistic! Anyway we left Hilton Head minus one wedding band. When Andy and I bought our bands I thought we had orderd them through a website that Mitch and Leah had bought/found theirs. So I called Leah (after going to a local jeweler and founding out how much the same ring he had cost...wow!) and I was hoping she would remember the website so I could start my hunt for Andys new band. Now the story gets so sweet...Leah said "L.A. I still have Mitch's wedding band, do you want it?" As I stood there on the other end of the phone I was silent. I was thinking...Bubby's wedding band? Leah said she would love it if we would want it. So she sent it to me and I decided I would suprise Andy and let him decide if he was ok wearing it.

When it arrived in the mail a few days later I kept it in my pocket the whole day (in the jewelry box) all excited like I was about to propose. I was so excited Andy barely got a foot in the door after work and I said "I have a suprise, hold out your hand." So I tried the ring on Andy and it fit PERFECTLY!!! Andy said "What is this?" So I got to cry (just a little) :-) and tell him the story. He was silent and just looked at it. I told him to think about it and let me know if he would want to wear it. I think it was the next day we were in the kitchen and he told me he would be honored to wear bubby's ring. I really think I stared at his hand for a couple days! I loved the note Leah sent...it said Mitch was so excited when he learned that Andy was planning on asking me to marry him and she knows that Mitch would be proud for Andy to wear the ring in honor of our love for each other.

THANK YOU LEAH!!! THANK YOU FOR BEING A LOVING SISTER AND KEEPING BUBBY'S MEMORIES WITH US!

Funny Jill

Kent and Mabry

Ok Jill has started her blog (www.thepopefamilytallahassee.com) and I am going to copy what she wrote from our yesterday excursion...

"Our activities for the day included a bon voyage visit to Best(Breast) Beginnings, Lunch at Hopkins, Grammy and Gee (my favorite kids boutique), and house hunting with L.A. As we were riding in the car we pulled up next to a big car with a man who was eyeballing L.A. and I. All we could think was that, here are these two All-American, stepford wives riding around in a mini van with their two babies strapped in side by side. The icing on the cake was that L.A. was reading a cookbook in the passenger seat. The thought of how we must have looked makes me chuckle. I absolutely love being a stay-at-home mom."

I have been "milking" this last week before school starts. I cannot believe the summer is already over....and so is my time as a stay at home mom. I have enjoyed the past 6 months so much! Mabry is going to have so much fun in the nursery at school. She is a busy body, so she will love all the other kids. Please pray for me next week as I adjust to a new schedule and being away from my little pumpkin.

Until later...

:-) L.A.

Little Mover

OK...right now I am watching little Mae scoot/crawl her way around our wood floors! One day I will know how to attach a video so all can see! We have had a fun day. We ran some errands this morning and then went to a playgroup for about an hour. Mabry got to swim for a little while...she loves water!!! Then our friends Jill and Kent came over and we had a PB & J and talked about sewing projects. Later when Andy comes home we plan to go on a family "run"...we will see. Our sprint triathlon is in about 2 weeks, we have decided this will definitely be for fun, not competition. I'm going to try to "blog" everyday this week just to get used to it...until then :-)
